OBNET’s mission is to support the efforts of member practices to provide quality care to their patients in a competitive managed care environment. OBNET seeks to reach its objectives through managed care contracting, physician-directed utilization management and quality improvement, physician education and group purchasing.
In a healthcare market where third parties control the financing of healthcare, OBNET’s goal is to work collaboratively with health plans to assure that the plan’s clinical policies and procedures are developed and administered with appropriate input of practicing OB/GYN specialists.
OBNET is 100% physician owned and physician directed. Each of OBNET’s core member practices selects a representative to the Management Committee (the name given to the Board of directors in an LLC). The Management Committee meets at least once per year to review the business and marketing activities of the network.
The Network is managed on a day-to-day basis by the Executive Committee which is composed of physicians selected by the Management Committee due to their leadership positions at the major OB/GYN hospital systems in metro Atlanta. The members of the Current panel are:
