What is OBNET?

OBNET Women’s Healthcare Network, LLC (“OBNET”) is a physician-owned network comprised of 45 member practices operating throughout metro-Atlanta.

Founded in 1993 to respond to the clinical and economic forces hampering the effective practice of quality patient care, OBNET established:

• A high quality group of independnt OB/GYN practices collectively working within OBNET to seek opportunities to enhance quality improvement in patient care and practice management;
   
• A single group professional liability program for its members in 1995.

• OBNET was the first in Georgia to challenge the exorbitant premiums of that time and has negotiated below market rates with its insurer (currently MagMutual) for over 25 years, resulting in millions of savings to our members;

• A strong Risk Management and Patient Safety Improvement Program conducted in cooperation with MAG Mutual;

• Yearly Clinical Improvement and Risk Management Seminars with Continuing Medical  Education Credits;
   
• Access to significant discounts through Healthcare Procurement Solutions on medical and office supplies, equipment other practice expenses at no cost to the practice.
   
• The financial resources to support the organization without annual dues or additional capital contributions from its members for over 20 years.

All OBNET member practices are required to have a favorable malpractice history for the mandatory participation in the professional liability program and pay a capital contribution of $1000 per physician to OBNET upon acceptance of their application.
